Lord, what a cruddy day for shooting.
The rain spattered my lenses and threatened to disable my strobes. I couldn't find a clear plastic bag anyhere in downtoen DC. I'd forgotten to bring any from the car, what with the state I was in after driving all night from Boston I could barely manage the new equipment I had stashed in and mounted atop an old frame pack. Five hundred miles, and my '85 VW goes limp a couple miles from the White House. Damn thing's got more sense than I do. I'd lost so much time trying to diagnose and repair the car that I feared it could become a moot shoot.

A taxi took me to the center of action where NAACP  Detroit marched on the Supreme Court Building, eventually forming a human chain by holding hands around the great structure.
